Marketplace

A complete guide to the App Marketplace for discovering, installing, and managing third-party and native integrations, selling snapshots, configuring distribution types, setting up pricing plans, and building a scalable app ecosystem across agency and sub-account levels.

The Marketplace is the centralized hub for discovering, installing, and managing apps that extend platform functionality. Every app goes through platform engineering review for quality, security, and compatibility. Connect to third-party integrations, add workflow enhancements, install snapshot packages, or sell your own configurations. Available on Freelancer and Agency Pro plans.

What Marketplace Does

Apps install at agency level (agency admins only), sub-account level (sub-account admins independently), or both. Browse categories (communication, payments, analytics, marketing), search by name/keyword/functionality, review curated collections (Top Installed, Top Free, Top Paid, Newly Added). App details show provider name, distribution type, pricing (free, freemium, one-time, subscription, usage-based), features/plugins/permissions, reviews/ratings, support resources.

Free app installation: click Install App, review permissions, click Allow & Install. If external connection required, follow provider’s connection flow. Paid app installation: click Install, select plan (monthly/yearly/one-time), confirm to process payment via card on file. External processor redirects to complete transaction. App installs automatically after payment confirmation.

Install apps directly from Workflow Builder without leaving canvas. Click Discover button in action panel, browse categories or use Global Search Bar, select app to view overview/actions/triggers/pricing/reviews, click Install. App’s actions/triggers appear immediately in All Actions panel. Universal search locates platform-built actions, Marketplace app actions, and triggers from built-in and third-party sources in single search.

App updates display Update tag when new actions/triggers available. Updates available immediately without reinstallation. Check updated app details to see new capabilities, then use in workflows.

Key Configuration Options

Distribution Types. Target User (Agency or Sub-account, determines OAuth token type, locked after creation). Installation Rights (Both Agency and Sub-account: appears at both levels, sub-account admins install independently, agencies bulk-install if enabled; Agency Only: appears exclusively in agency-level Marketplace, only agency admins install/uninstall). Bulk Installation: agencies install across multiple sub-accounts simultaneously.

Three Distribution Models. Agency-Only Apps (serve agency-level functions exclusively, sub-accounts cannot see/access, agencies cannot resell). Sub-account (Both Can Install): recommended model, both admins discover/install, sub-account installing bears cost directly, agencies may resell at markup. Sub-account (Agency Only): appears exclusively in agency Marketplace but installs at sub-account level, only agency admins handle installation, supports agency reselling.

Pricing and Monetization. Free apps (install at no cost). Freemium apps (free install, paid upgrade for premium features). Subscription apps (monthly/yearly recurring charges billed to card on file). One-time purchase (single payment, permanent access). Usage-based pricing (charge per execution/message/custom event, scales with usage). Change pricing plan: navigate to App Marketplace > Installed Apps, select app, click current plan, select new plan, confirm. Billing adjusts on next cycle.

Usage-Based Pricing and Agency Rebilling. Set markup percentage on usage costs sub-accounts pay above base rate. Configure maximum daily usage caps to prevent unexpected charges. Usage costs auto-calculated and passed through to sub-accounts at configured markup.

Power Features

Selling Snapshots on Marketplace. Register at developer portal, create new app, configure app type (Public/Private), choose distribution model (Agency/Sub-Account), select listing type (Standard/White-Label). Add logo, description, company info, support contact, screenshots/videos. Attach Snapshot (enter app name, link package, copy marketplace link). Submit for review (7-10 business days). Pricing options: Free, Freemium, One-time fee, Monthly subscription, Yearly subscription. Each app supports one Snapshot. No limit on total number of Snapshot apps.

Workflow Integration. Marketplace actions expand automation capabilities: send data to external services, retrieve information from external databases/APIs, process/transform data mid-workflow, send messages through additional channels. Marketplace triggers start workflows based on external system events, webhook-based triggers, scheduled triggers on custom schedules.

OAuth and API Security. OAuth consent protocols display permissions during installation flow (must approve before app gains access). Agency tokens (userType: Company) for agency-level apps access agency-wide data. Sub-account tokens (userType: Location) for sub-account apps access only specific sub-account data. Automated webhook retries on delivery failures ensure data reliability.

Managing Installed Apps. View installed apps: App Marketplace > Installed Apps tab shows status/plan/usage. Uninstall apps: select app, click Uninstall, specify scope (specific sub-accounts/agency level/both), confirm. Uninstalling removes actions/triggers from all workflows where used. Review active workflows before uninstalling to avoid breaking automations.

Pro Tips

  • Audit before installing. Review permissions, provider reputation, user reviews before granting access. Few minutes of research prevents potential issues.
  • Start with free apps to understand installation/management flow before committing to paid subscriptions.
  • Use Workflow Builder discovery to install apps when you know you need specific actions/triggers. Keeps workflow creation focused and efficient.
  • Set usage limits for sub-accounts using usage-based apps to prevent unexpected charges from high-volume accounts.
  • Review installed apps quarterly. Uninstall unused apps to reduce unnecessary permissions and potential costs.
